VuSoft Features
DESCRIPTION
VuSoft provides simultaneous recovery, recording, display and distribution of real-time telemetry and other serial data streams. In addition to real-time streams it can read data from flight test tapes, solid state storage devices and data that has been archived to magnetic or optical storage media.
Data formats include IRIG Chapter 4, 8 and 10, MIL-STD-1553B, ARINC 429, disk image among other standard and proprietary formats. Import and export functions provide access to most popular databases including TMATS, Access, dBase and Oracle. It includes a “Basic-like” math engine to generate derived parameters that may be used just like measurement parameters, even as inputs to other derived parameters. A broad palette of calibration techniques converts raw data to engineering units for display and archive. VuSoft is compliant with IRIG106 Chapter 6 for remote system setup.
VuSoft distributes encrypted and compressed real-time and played back data including fully compliant IRIG106 Chapter 10 to multiple, networked PC workstations. Just attach workstations using the client version of VuSoft and each user can view test data and derived parameters in their own customized display screens and locally record data of interest.
Programming VuSoftNT to decode specific data streams is quick and easy using logically organized screens and menus. Decoding of the stream format and data is done in high-speed memory providing bit rates up to 32 Mbit/sec per channel. It is decoded by the attached format and data libraries that have been configured by the user for the specific stream characteristics. Engineering Units (EU) calibration is applied according to the type of calibration and equation coefficients entered during setup. When used with the TDS1000's 4-stream serial input card the received data is stamped with IRIG, GPS or computer time providing an accurate time reference for each data point. Embedded time is also supported. Data from inputs other than the serial card such as composite video is similarly time aligned with the other data sources. Following decoding the data is available to the VuSoftNT internal data structures, which include Displays, recording on hard disk or RAID and Network Distribution. The raw input stream can be simultaneously recorded providing a backup to the decoded data. The libraries that you attach to VuSoftNT define what data sources it has available. Data and format libraries are available for IRIG-106 Chapters 4, Chapter 8, and Chapter 10, IRIG107-98, CCSDS, MIL-STD-1553B, ARINC 429 and many proprietary formats used to record or store data on tape, solid state memory and disk. Additional libraries make VuSoftNT compatible with third-party hardware decoms, telemetry receivers and bit syncs. Output libraries format decoded data for compatibility with popular analysis and viewing programs. A post processing library, the Viewer, plots multiple channels of recorded data and includes zoom, digital filter, x-y and fft functions. A DAC library supports Analog Outputs from the decom system or networked workstation. Combined with the TDS1000, VuSoftNT is the perfect solution for packet and pulse telemetry. It locks on to input data immediately when the clock is present.
VuSoftNT offers a wide palette of calibration techniques including slope-offset, polynomial expansion up to 9th order and spline. It also features the fast and accurate AKIMA conversion system. Using up to nine raw vs. EU values Affine math calculates the calibration coefficients with higher end-point accuracies than other methods. Build processes to generate derived parameters from stream data using the VuSoftNT full featured, in-built Math Engine with BASIC-like syntax. Implementation is fast allowing the processes to run in real-time. Each process may contain up to 26 inputs and 26 outputs. Derived parameters may be used like any other parameter in displays, even as inputs to new derived parameters. Like other data, derived parameters have alarms and warnings and can be sent to analog outputs. VuSoftNT can be linked to user libraries (DLLs) of application specific parameter derivations. VuSoftNT has import and export functions providing direct access to most popular databases including TMATS, Excel, Access, dBase, FoxPro, and ASCII delimited files. A generic I/O library provides an Application Programmer's Interface for programming new input and output libraries for custom formats and applications
