TDS-1000-p - Toughbook-Based Portable Telemetry Minimize

The TDS-1000-p is a highly portable and ruggedized version of the TDS-1000 Telemetry Data System.  The field-proven Panasonic Toughbook runs the VuSoft Software which interfaces to the USB Decom Appliance and the VT-RF-70 Telemetry Receiver via high-speed USB 2.0.  The TDS-1000-p is a full telemetry package, capable of simultaneously receiving, decomming, displaying, recording, and analyzing up to 2 independant telemetry streams with bit-rates up to 25Mbps per channel.

TDS-1000-p Features
  • Two independant Telemetry channels with integrated bit-syncs for data rates up to 25Mbps per channel
  • Entire system fits into an airline checkable transport case (delivered with the system).
  • Same functionality as TDS-1000: Receive, Record, Dislpay, Analyze, and distribute telemetry data.
  • Combine with the VT-004 portable tracking antennal for a complete Telemetry system.
  • Integrated Math Engine creates derived parameters with complex algorithims.
  • Optional GPS receiver obtains UTC time when no IRIG A, B, or G signal is available.

DESCRIPTION

A one-man portable, environmentally sealed system that can perform open and closed-loop system checkout and pre-flight of telemetry systems on the flight line or in the lab.

The PTU is a complete telemetry system that receives L, upper-L, NATO and S-band RF. It decoms, displays and records data in fully compliant IRIG106 Chapter 10 format. Remote command & control as well as data broadcast in compliant IRIG106 Chapter 10 format across the Ethernet is provided. An internal GPS antenna and receiver provide remoter time/position as well as external IRIG time interface. Two IEEE-1394B ports are availagle for playback or download of flight recorders or RMMs. A tocuh entry display, keyboard and mouse pad provide the user interface for automated hardware and data display configurations.

An optional environmental enclosure and power unit provide full stand-alone capabilities in normal or harsh environments. QuickFlight may be used with the VT-004 tracking antenna for longer distance flight testing.

The PTU is a battery or line-powered portable system that will receive S, NATO, L and upper L-band telemetry and decommutate, display and record PCM in IRIG106 Chapter 10 format. It has an optional IEEE-1394B interface and software module to download/debrief IRIG106 Chapter 10 recorders and solid-state memory. It features a sunlight-readable touch-entry screen with fold-down keyboard for configuration, setup and data display.
